  2. Having grown up seeing the issues besetting the agricultural landscape, Vikas Mittal and Ankit Agarwal, Co-founders of agritech startup Orinko, decided to improve farmer’s quality of living.  With Orinko, the co-founders aim to revolutionise the agritech landscape and improve farmers’ quality of living while building credibility for end-customers.
  3. Finally, in October 2019, Orinko was incorporated as a full-stack agritech fruit and vegetable (FnV) startup and became operational in February this year.

  5. वैक्सीन को लेकर दोनों देशों के बीच तालमेल के सवाल पर माल्का ने कहा कि दोनों देश हमेश से रिसर्च और टेक्नॉलजी को एक दूसरे से शेयर करते रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि हम एक दूसरे का सहयोग और समर्थन कर रहे हैं। इजरायली राजदूत ने कहा कि भारत में कोरोना वैक्सीन का हब बनने के लिहाज से तमाम सुविधाएं मौजूद हैं। उन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि जब भी विश्वसनीय, सुरक्षित और कारगर वैक्सीन बनेगी तब उसमें से ज्यादातर का उत्पादन भारत में होगा। माल्का ने कहा कि भारत जब भी वैक्सीन बनाएगा तब इजरायल की जरूरतों का भी ख्याल रखेगा।

  1. महाराष्ट्र: पपीता–तरबूज की खेती कर लाखों कमाता है यह किसान, 50 अन्य को किया प्रेरित

  1. महाराष्ट्र के बीड जिले के पराली तालुका के नंदगौल गाँव के संदीप गिते ने सूखाग्रस्त क्षेत्र में विपरीत परिस्थितियों खेती कर उल्लेखनीय सफलता हासिल की है।
  2. संदीप बताते हैं कि जैविक विधि से खेती करने में परम्परागत शैलियों के मुकाबले काफी कम पानी की जरूरत होती है और खर्च में भी कम होता है।
  3. संदीप फिलहाल, 20 टन पपीते की खेती करते हैं और उनके उत्पादों की आपूर्ति राज्य के कई हिस्सों में की जाती है।
  4. संदीप के कामयाबी को देखते हुए गाँव के अन्य किसान भी कुछ ऐसा ही प्रयोग करने के लिए विचार करने लगे। यहाँ जनवरी, 2020 में आठ किसानों का समूह बनाया गया था, जिससे कि आज 50 किसान जुड़े हुए हैं। ये किसान दूसरे फलों की भी खेती करने के लिए प्रयास कर रहे हैं।

  2. The decision to turn vegan was not easy for Mumbai-based Samir Pasad, the founder of Vegan Bites and Nomou, and his father. As vegetarians, their diet was heavily dairy dependent and since they made the decision to go vegan virtually overnight, twenty years ago, it meant their food choices became extremely limited. Vegans are people who refrain from consuming meat, eggs, dairy products, and any other animal-derived substances.
  3. Their initial guinea pigs were their own children and relatives who gave genuine feedback to help them develop a vegan ice cream closest to a conventional one. They also got reviews from customers who were offered ice creams along with their catered meals.
  4. Their efforts paid off because they discovered there was a market, albeit a niche one, for vegan ice creams. Today, Nomou is sold in supermarkets like Nature’s Basket, ice cream parlours, and even directly to customers who order via Swiggy and Zomato.

  • किसानों ने अभिशाप को बनाया वरदान, अब सफेद रेत पर हरा सोना उगाकर हो रहे मालामाल, तस्वीरें

Key points:

  1. पहले उपजाऊ भूमि में रेत भर जाने से किसान खेती से मुंह मोड़ने लगे थे, लेकिन किसान अब नई तकनीक से खेती करने लगे हैं। जिससे सफेद रेत में हरी सब्जियों व रेत पर उगने वाली फसल से वे अच्छी कमाई कर रहे हैं। कछार की मिट्टी में न तो अधिक खाद की जरूरत होती है न ही सिंचाई की। बाढ़ के इस अभिशाप को कछार के किसानों ने अपने लिए वरदान बना लिया है।
  2. दो माह पूर्व जहां 15 से 20 फीट तक बाढ़ का पानी भरा था जिसमें किसानों की हजारों बीघा धान, गन्ना आदि फसल बर्बाद हो गई थी, आज उन्हीं सफेद रेत वाला खेतों को हरा सोने की खदान में बदलने के लिए संसाधन जुटाने और संवारने में किसान अपना पसीना बहा रहे है। यहां नवंबर माह से खेती का काम शुरु होकर मई माह में खत्म हो जाता है।
  3. नदी के रेत में बड़े स्तर पर तरबूज व खरबूजा की फसल लगाई जाती है फसल तैयार होने पर कई जिले के व्यापारी ट्रक द्वारा ले जाते हैं। दो जिलों की सीमा पर बसा गांव गुनौली निवासी पांचवी जमात तक पढ़े कालीप्रसाद व सीताराम कहते हैं कि खरबूजे की खेती ने उनके बैंक के खाते को भी वजनी कर दिया है, कहते हैं कि हसरत से हौसला है और हौसले से ही उड़ान होती है।
  4. गांव के ही निवासी आठवीं जमात पास धनंजय मिश्रा बताते हैं कि उनके पास सवा सौ बीघा खेत है। जिसमें तरबूज, खरबूजा, लौकी, तोरई, कुम्हड़ा, करेला, परवल, कद्दू, खीरा सहित धान, गन्ना की यहां खेती नवंबर माह से शुरू होती है और मई माह तक समाप्त हो जाती है।

  1. हिंसा ग्रस्‍त दक्षिणी सूडान में आईपीएस अधिकारी रागिनी बनीं देश के लिए गर्व करने की वजह, जानें कैसे

  1. संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र की तरफ से जारी एक शॉर्ट वीडियो में रागिनी ने बताया है कि इस तरह के शांति अभियान का सदस्‍य बनना उनके लिए एक सपने के सच होने जैसा है। रागिनी 6 अप्रैल 2019 को संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र के शांति अभियान का हिस्‍सा बनी थीं। इस मिशन में वो अकेली नहीं हैं, बल्कि उनके पति भी इसी मिशन का हिस्‍सा हैं। उन्‍होंने ही यूएन मिशन के लिए रागिनी को प्रेरित भी किया था।
  2. रागिनी दक्षिणी सूडान में तैनात हैं। ये देश काफी समय से हिंसा की चपेट में है। इसका सबसे ज्‍यादा खामियाजा यहां की महिलाओं और बच्‍चों को उठाना पड़ रहा है। हजारों की तादाद में यहां पर लोग अपने ही देश में शरणार्थी बनकर रह गए हैं और यूएन की मदद पर जीवन गुजार रहे हैं। ऐसे में एक महिला अधिकारी के तौर पर रागिनी यूएन के शिविरों में रह रही महिलाओं के लिए भगवान से कम नहीं हैं। रागिनी बताती हैं कि यहां पर रह रही महिलाओं को ऐसी कई तरह की परेशानियां होती हैं जो वो किसी पुरुष अधिकारी से नहीं बता सकती हैं। ऐसे में वो उनकी मौजूदगी इन महिलाओं को राहत देती है।
  3. रागिनी मानती हैं कि यहां फैली हिंसा ने बड़े पैमाने पर महिलाओं और बच्‍चों को मुश्किलों में डाला है। महिला अधिकारी के होने का फायदा ये है कि महिलाएं अपनी बात सहजता से कर पाती हैं। उन्‍होंने यूएन के वीडियो में कहा कि उन्‍हें जो फीडबैक मिलता है उससे उन्‍हें काफी सुकून मिलता है। वो कहती हैं कि उन्‍हें यहां पर आने के बाद अभूतपूर्व अनुभव हुआ है। यहां पर आकर वो उन लोगों की मदद कर पाई हैं, जो इसके सही मायने में हकदार हैं। यहां पर काम करने वाला हर व्‍यक्ति इन लोगों के लिए आशा का स्रोत है। रागिनी ने वीडियो में बताया कि यूएन मिशन की नीली टोपी पहनने के बाद उन्‍हें एक नई ताकत और संतुष्टि मिलती है। उन्‍होंने यूएन मिशन के लिए दूसरों को भी प्रेरित किया है। उनका कहना है कि आप भी ये कर सकते हैं और आपको ये जरूर करना चाहिए।

  1. IIT Delhi Innovation: बोतल में पानी डालते ही खत्म हो जाएंगे जीवाणु–कीटाणु , IIT दिल्ली ने विकसित की तकनीक

  1. प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान ने एक बोतल तैयार किया है जो जीवाणु-कीटाणु को खत्म कर सकेगा। आइआइटी दिल्ली-इनक्यूबेटेड स्टार्टअप नैनोसैफ सॉल्यूशंस ने नैनो-टेक्नॉलॉजी और पारंपरिक विज्ञान के मिश्रण से पानी की यह बोतल तैयार की है। बोतल तांबे के एंटीमाइक्रोबियल गुणों पर आधारित है। इसे एक्यूक्योर (AqCure)  नाम दिया गया है।
  2. आइआइटी पदाधिकारी ने बताया कि पानी की बोतल एंटीवायरल, जीवाणुरोधी और एंटिफंगल हैं। इसमें पॉलीमर मैट्रिक्स से सक्रिय नैनो-तांबा निकलता है। निकलने वाला तांबा कंटेनर के बाहरी और आंतरिक सतह को एंटीवायरल बनाता है। सीधे संपर्क पर यह किसी भी तरह के जीवाणु और कीटाणु को कम या खत्म करता है। साथ ही संग्रहण किए गए पानी सुरक्षित बनाता है।
  3. यह एक पेटेंट तकनीक है जिसमें पॉलीमर मैट्रिक्स से संयमित तरीके से सक्रिय नैनो-तांबा उत्सर्जित होता है। उत्सर्जित तांबा कंटेनर के बाहरी और आंतरिक सतह को एंटीवायरस बनाता है, जो सीछे संपर्क पर रोगाणुओं के संचरण को कम करता है और पानी को सूक्ष्मजीव विज्ञानी रूप से सुरक्षित बनाता है।

    • [Startup Bharat] How Goa-based Nao Spirits & Beverages is putting India on world gin map

  1. Nao Spirits & Beverages has two gin brands under its umbrella: Greater Than and Hapusa. The startup has recorded 400 percent rise in sales in one year.
  2. Making the most of this trend, Anand Virmani and his wife Aparajita Ninan started Nao Spirits & Beverages in 2016. Nao Spirits claims to be India’s first craft gin company, and also one of the country’s first craft spirit startups.
  3. The startup was initially founded in Delhi, although its distillery was set up in Goa. Over time, Nao Spirits shifted its base to Goa and it turned out to be rather an advantage.
  4. With a small distillery in Goa, Nao Spirits has now branched out its distribution network to eight Indian cities and 14 countries across the globe. The startup has a subsidiary office in the UK.
  5. Nao Spirits sources its bottles, labels, and a few botanicals from abroad. However, most of the botanicals, along with the neutral wheat spirit, are procured from various parts of the country and distilled in Goa, in a copper pot still.

  • Using electric planes and UAVs, this startup wants to redefine urban mobility in India

  1. Chennai-based startup Ubifly Technologies Private Limited, branded as The ePlane Company, is building electric planes and UAVs for delivery and short-range intracity travel to redefine urban mobility.
  2. Increasing population, encroachments, traffic problems, and infrastructure problems are major concerns for Indian roadways. In a bid to solve issues related to inadequate road infrastructure, Chennai-based The ePlane Company is looking to take the aerial route.
  3. Ubifly Technologies Private Limited, better known as The ePlane Company (TEC), was founded in 2016 by Pranjal Mehta and Satyanarayanan Chakravarthy to provide aerial delivery services. The startup ideated out from the National Centre for Combustion Research & Development Lab (NCCRD).
  4. Speaking with YourStory, Satyanarayanan, Co-founder and CTO, explains that the startup is building electric planes and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for short-range intracity travels and is aimed at redefining urban mobility.
  5. He explains that TEC vehicles are a hybrid — they take off and land like a drone while moving forward in the air like an electric aeroplane.
  6. Incubated at IITM Incubation Cell, IIT Madras, TEC founder made an initial investment of around Rs 30 lakh to develop the UAVs.
  7. The startup claims that its copyrighted ML algorithms enable a supervision-free flight. The vehicle takes off and lands vertically like a drone with a one push button. However, it moves forward like a plane and automatically detects any obstacles such as trees or power poles, etc. to ensure a safe flight..

  1. Free UPSC Coaching to Treating Addicts: Nagaland IPS Goes Above Duty to Save Lives

Key points:

  • When Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, a 2016-batch officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), was first posted in the remote eastern border district of Tuensang in Nagaland as a sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), she was immediately struck by the generous and giving nature of its residents, who accorded her a warm welcome.
  • Using her long standing passion for and knowledge of teaching and farming, Dr. Kaur conducted free coaching classes for UPSC and state service aspirants, bought books and other study materials for them with her own money, and treated, counselled and taught drug addicts new vocational skills like organic farming.
  • As a result, Dr. Kaur, a native of Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, has made a real mark among the communities of Naga Hills who have been deleteriously affected by rampant underdevelopment, proliferation of synthetic drugs, HIV-AIDS, and a long-running insurgency.
  • Dr. Kaur decided to set up coaching classes for the Union civil services exam on a trial basis. The local administration advertised this initiative using social media and received a good response. The Superintendent of Police, Bharat Markad, helped her by sanctioning the use of the conference hall on the office premises and even supported the venture with money to purchase study materials.

Key points:

  1. Goa’s first community agricultural college was set up by Manguirish Pai Raiker 7 years ago.
  2. Yet, there are woefully inadequate capacities in India when it comes to actually learning how to farm. This was the realisation that made Manguirish Pai Raiker (64). a resident of Goa, to start the state’s first community agriculture college in 2013.
  3. Manguirish started a manufacturing business in the late seventies and continues to run it successfully till date. “Despite being in the manufacturing industry, it was agriculture that always fascinated me,” says Manguirish.
  4. He realised that while what he was doing was definitely helpful to individual students, to create large-scale impact, he needed to formalise it into a scalable process.
  5. In building the college Manguirish mentions that he spent all his life savings, he says, “If not for my supportive wife [Varsha], I doubt I would have been able to pull it off.”

    • How Gurugram-based CogniAble is using machine learning for early detection of autism spectrum disorder

  1. Gurugram-based healthtech startup CogniAble provides two solutions: early automated screening for autism and digital therapy management. The online platform allows people to upload videos of children and get them screened for autism.
  2. Autism spectrum disorder isn’t easy to understand, but depictions in TV and movies have helped familiarise us with the developmental disorder that affects communication and behaviour.
  3. Founded in 2017 by Manu Kohli with his wife Dr Swati Kohli, Dr Prathosh AP and Dr Joshua Pritchard, the startup aims to bring affordability, accessibility and high-quality management to homes across India. Autism can be diagnosed at any age, but it is said to be a “developmental disorder” as symptoms generally appear in the first two years of life. This is why CogniAble is focusing on early detection by providing an online platform where people can upload videos of children and get them screened for autism.
  4. Quoting data from Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Manu says all children should be screened using standardised autism screening tools between 18 and 36 months of age. However, limited health professionals and infrastructure mean several children are diagnosed a year or two late.“CogniAble is an online platform available remotely for early screening and affordable behavioural intervention for autism spectrum disorders,” he says.
  5. The co-founder explains that users can upload videos of children using the mobile application. These are analysed by deep learning models to identify fine motor, gross motor, and complex actions based on a stimulus provided by a caregiver.
  6. After detection of autism, behavioural therapies are key to develop necessary skills promoting school and societal inclusion of children. The platform enables parents, schools, and institutes to get access to integrated assessment and treatment plans at 20 percent lesser costs, the founder claims.

  • Starting with just two clients, B2B SaaS startup Whatfix recorded 300 pc revenue growth in 1 year

  1. Sequoia Capital India backed SaaS startup Whatfix works as an interactive guidance platform, helping Fortune 500 companies increase employee productivity.
  2. Khadim Batti and Vara Kumar quit Huawei Telecom in 2011 to build a product that would help SMBs enhance their marketing capabilities. The product SearchEnabler would crawl across interwebs for data points, analyse them, and identify marketing recommendations.
  3. B2B SaaS startup Whatfix provides in-app overlays and guidance for implemented software. It provides services, including product adoption, user onboarding, employee training, self-service support, and performance support using enterprise web applications.
  4. Whatfix claims it has increased employee productivity by 35 percent, reducing training time and costs by 60 percent, reducing employee case tickets by 50 percent, and increasing application data accuracy by 20 percent.
  5. While headquartered in Bengaluru, Whatfix is a global startup, with employees based across multiple continents. The team increased its strength by 45 percent between January and June 2020 and has over 300 employees at present. The startup has offices in San Jose, Atlanta, Cambridge, and Melbourne.
  6. Just over the last year, Whatfix claims to have on-boarded over 100 Fortune 1000 customers. In 2019, it claims to have increased its total revenue by 300 percent.
  7. So far, Whatfix has raised $49.8 million. This year alone, it raised $32 million in its Series C round, led by Sequoia Capital India, with participation from existing investors Eight Roads Ventures, Cisco Investments, and F-Prime Capital.

  1. Hyperlocal home services startup Homvery connects users with technical experts for home maintenance services. It has seen revenue grow 2.5x amidst the lockdown as home cleaning and disinfection services saw an uptick.
  2. Increased internet penetration and the use of smartphones have increased the demand for online services, and startups such as Dunzo, Urban Company, and Genie are tapping the opportunity. Hyperlocal delivery services generally involve online ordering and delivery of goods and services from mom-and-pop stores.
  3. Homvery, headquartered in Sambalpur, Odisha, aims to tap into the growing hyperlocal delivery market by providing home maintenance services.
  4. “As of now, we have over 50 technicians working with us. We have completed more than 5,000 services till now with 80 percent customer retention rate,” Prahllad claims.
  5. The startup claims to have over 7,000 registered users. “We are valued at Rs 3.51 crore as of September 2020,” he says.
  6. “In the coming five years, we want to create an impact where people say ‘call Homvery’ instead of ‘call technicians’ whenever they need home maintenance services,” Prahllad says.

  • This Startup’s Bio-Digester Helps 5000 Families Give up LPG, Saves 6 Million Trees

A large, black, bloated plastic-like bag spreads in the backyard of Kedar Khilare, a farmer from Phaltan, a village about 100 km away from Pune in Maharashtra.Upon a closer look, the bag seems to be filled with air, with pipes connected to one end that lead straight into the kitchen. Occasionally children in the family are seen jumping and playing over it.“It is a biogas plant,” Kedar explains. Thanks to the system, Kedar says that he has stopped buying LPG cylinders for his family for almost two years now.
  2. However, Sistema Bio, a company headquartered in Pune selling innovative biodigesters, conducted a demonstration camp in the village and showed its benefits in 2018.
  3. Piyush Sohani, a manager of the Sistema Bio company, explains, “These biodigesters are made from an industrial geo-membrane, with a lifespan stretching up to 20 years.”

  • झारखंड के छात्र ने बनाया सोशल मीडिया एप ‘इंडो बडी‘, व्हाट्सएप–फेसबुक व इंस्टाग्राम को देगा टक्‍कर

  1. झारखंड के खूंटी जिले के एक छात्र ने व्हाट्सएप, फेसबुक और इंस्टाग्राम को टक्‍कर देने वाला एप बनाया है। डीएवी स्कूल में कक्षा 11 में पढ़ने वाले छात्र अभिषेक महतो ने ‘मेड इन इंडिया’ सोशल मीडिया एप विकसित किया है, जिसका नाम इंडो बडी है। यह  एप फीचर्स में व्हाट्सएप, फेसबुक और इंस्टाग्राम को मात देता है। यह एप इन तीनों विदेशी एप का कंबाइंड रूप है। केंद्रीय मंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा ने इस एप की लांचिंग की है।
  2. लांचिंग के अवसर पर अभिषेक महतो ने ‘इंडो बडी’ सोशल मीडिया एप के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि इंडो बडी पर लोग पूरी दुनिया से जुड़ सकेंगे। किसी भी एप को लेकर उसके यूजर की चिंता होती है कि उसकी गोपनीयता बनी रहे। इंडो बडी एप में इसे प्राथमिक चिंता के रूप में समझते हुए उपयोगकर्ता की गोपनीयता के साथ बनाया गया है।
  3. उपयोगकर्ताओं का डेटा भारत में संग्रहीत किया जाता है और उपयोगकर्ता का डेटा उपयोगकर्ता की सहमति के बिना किसी तृतीय पक्ष के साथ कभी साझा नहीं किया जाएगा। इसमें कई तरह के फीचर्स दिए गए हैं, जिससे मैसेजेस, वीडियो को सुरक्षित रख सकते हैं। अभिषेक ने कहा कि इस एप को विकसित करने का मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत को एप के मामले में आत्मनिर्भर बनाना है। आज प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी मेक इन इंडिया पर जोर दे रहे हैं। इसी के तहत विदेशी एप पर से निर्भरता को कम करने के उद्देश्य से इस एप का निर्माण किया है।

  1. चाय की दुकान छोड़ शुरू की एलोवेरा की खेती, अब 47 तरह के उत्पाद बनाते हैं राजस्थान के अजय

  1. राजस्थान के हनुमानगढ़ जिला के परलीका गाँव में रहने वाले 31 वर्षीय अजय स्वामी पिछले 12 साल से एलोवेरा की खेती कर रहे हैं। खेती करने के साथ -साथ अजय इसकी प्रोसेसिंग भी करते हैं और खुद अपने उत्पाद तैयार करके बाज़ार में बेचते हैं। उनके उत्पाद ‘नैचुरल हेल्थ केयर’ के नाम से लगभग 20 अलग-अलग कंपनियों को जा रहे हैं।
  2. अपनी खेती और प्रोसेसिंग के काम से आज लाखों में कमाने वाले अजय ने कभी अपनी शुरूआत मात्र 10 रुपये दिन की कमाई से की थी। बचपन में ही पिता का साया सिर से उठ गया और विरासत में मिला जीवन का संघर्ष और केवल दो बीघा ज़मीन।
  3. उन्होंने सामान्य पानी की बोतल में एलोवेरा का जूस भरकर बेचना शुरू किया। एक से दो, दो से चार, चार से दस बोतलें तैयार हुईं और ऐसे करते-करते उनका यह प्रोसेसिंग का काम जम गया। उनके उत्पादों को एक-दो कंपनियाँ खरीदने भी लगीं। इसके बाद, उन्होंने अपनी चाय की दुकान बंद करके सिर्फ खेती और प्रोसेसिंग पर ध्यान दिया। अपनी खेती के सिलसिले में कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र भी जाने लगे। यहाँ से भी उन्हें और अलग-अलग उत्पाद जैसे साबुन, क्रीम बनाने के बारे में जानकारी मिली।
  4. एक-एक कदम पर अजय ने दिन-रात मेहनत की। थोड़ी-थोड़ी बचत करके अपनी ज़मीन बढ़ाई और प्रोसेसिंग यूनिट का सेट-अप किया। आज उनके पास लगभग 27 बीघा अपनी ज़मीन है और उनकी प्रोसेसिंग यूनिट से 45 से ज्यादा उत्पाद बन रहे हैं। सफल होने के बावजूद अजय ने अपने उत्पादों में नवाचार करना नहीं छोड़ा। वह बताते हैं कि उन्होंने लॉकडाउन के दौरान भी नए उत्पाद बनाने पर काम किया।
  5. अजय कहते हैं कि पारंपरिक फसलों के साथ किसान छोटे स्तर से इस तरह की अलग औषधीय फसल लगाने की शुरूआत कर सकते हैं। फसल उगाने के साथ-साथ अगर किसान अपने खुद के उत्पाद भी बना लें तो इससे अच्छा कुछ भी नहीं।”

  2. रजनी सुबह 5 बजे उठ जाती हैं। बिरयानी तैयार करने में 4 – 4.30 घंटे लग जाते हैं। वह ग्राहकों को बिरयानी के साथ चाप और तड़के वाला रायता भी देती हैं। कोरोना संक्रमण के बाद स्वच्छता को लेकर हर कोई सजग है। बिरयानी बनाने से लेकर ग्राहकों तक उसे पहुँचाने में वह स्वच्छता का पूरा ध्यान रखती हैं। रजनी 10 बजे अपनी गाड़ी लेकर पश्चिम विहार से करीब 9 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित रोहिणी कोर्ट पहुँच जाती हैं। सड़क किनारे उनका स्टॉल लग जाता है। 3 बजे तक उनकी पूरी बिरयानी बिक जाती है। यहाँ भी साफ सफाई का पूरा ध्यान रखा जाता है। इस पूरे काम में रोहित पूरा साथ देते हैं। रोहित पहले कॉसमेटिक इंडस्ट्री में काम करते थे। नौकरी जाने के बाद जब रजनी ने उन्हें यह आइडिया दिया तो झट से तैयार हो गए। इसके बाद दोनों ने मिलकर काम शुरू कर दिया।

  1. झारखंड: कारोबार बंद हुआ तो इस युवक ने कर दिया ‘मैजिक बल्ब’ का आविष्कार

  1. कुछ समय पहले, दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे ने बेंगलुरु से मैसूर तक चले वाली 32 ट्रेनों में से 18 को डीजल से इलेक्ट्रिक किया है। इस पहल की वजह से लगभग 40% तक ट्रेनों की रनिंग कॉस्ट कम हुई है। इसके साथ ही, बेंगलुरु के डीआरएम अशोक कुमार वर्मा ने KSR बेंगलुरु स्टेशन पर इस रेलवे डिवीज़न का पहला वर्टीकल गार्डन भी बनाया है।
  2. बेंगलुरु डिवीज़न के बंगारपेट रेलवे स्टेशन पर रेलवे अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने एक बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया है। रेलवे स्टेशन की एक जगह को डंपयार्ड की तरह इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा था। लॉकडाउन के दौरान अधिकारियों ने इस जगह को एक नया रूप देने पर विचार किया और अब यहाँ एक सुंदर सा किचन गार्डन है, जहाँ कई तरह की सब्जी उगाई जा रही है।
  3. लगभग 50×20 फीट की इस ज़मीन को पहले नगर निगम की मदद से खाली कराया गया। कचरे को हटाया गया और फिर यहाँ पर गार्डन लगाने की तैयारी हुई। रेलवे कर्मचारियों में जिन्हें भी थोड़ी -बहुत कृषि के कामों की या गार्डनिंग की जानकारी थी, उन्हें इस प्रोजेक्ट से जोड़ा गया। यह ज़मीन भले ही कूड़े-कचरे से भरी थी लेकिन काफी उपजाऊ है।
  4. उन्होंने आगे बताया कि इस किचन गार्डन के अलावा भी, बंगारपेट रेलवे और भी कई प्रोजेक्ट्स पर काम कर रहा है जैसे ग्राउंड वाटर रिचार्ज के लिए एक जगह तालाब बनाया जा रहा है और रेलवे कॉलोनी में मियावाकी जंगल भी लगाया जा रहा है। “ये सभी प्रोजेक्ट्स अभी चल रहे हैं, पूरे नहीं हुए हैं। जैसे ही ये पूरे होंगे डिपार्टमेंट की तरफ से इनके बारे में भी जानकारी साझा की जाएगी,” उन्होंने आगे कहा।.

  • Meet IIT-M’s Moushik: A Giant Leap on India’s Road to Tech Independence

  1. Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras have created a completely open-source microprocessor, the first of its kind to be made in India. Moushik, named for its small size, is special in many ways and is a crucial step in our country’s journey to self-sufficiency in technology.
  2. A microprocessor, which can be thought of as a tiny CPU – tinier than the width of a human hair – has a wide range of applications. It is an essential component of credit cards, washing machines, phones, computers, drones, televisions, cars, elevators – pretty much anything that uses electronics for its functioning.
  3. At the moment, the microprocessors used in these products are made by private manufacturers from countries like the US, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. The problem with this is that they are black boxes, meaning their workings are closed to us at some level or the other. In certain cases, the architecture is known only to the designers. In others, the code through which the microprocessor controls the devices is hidden.
  4. This limits how flexibly we can use the processor, but an even bigger issue is the inherent security risk. There’s no way of knowing if any information is being collected or how secure the software is against hacking. A bad idea, especially when it comes to sensitive devices like credit cards, surveillance equipment and military devices.
  5. Moushik removes these concerns by being open-source. Even its communication in 1s and 0s with the machines it controls is entirely transparent – written in an internationally understood machine assembly language called RISC-V. Moushik’s transparency makes it super-safe for anyone to use.
  6. Moushik’s openness, flexibility, and low cost make it ideal for startups and student projects, as well as industrial applications.

  1. यह प्रेरक कहानी है राजस्थान के हनुमानगढ़ जिले के किसान अनिल बिश्नोई की। अनिल बिश्नोई ने अपना जीवन वन्य जीवों के संरक्षण के लिए समर्पित कर दिया है। बीते तीन दशकों से वह इलाके में वन्य जीवों को बचाने की मुहिम में जुटे हैं। अनिल को जितना प्यार अपने बेटी-बेटे से है उतना ही स्नेह हिरण, मोर, तीतर, सूअर, नील गाय, खरगोश, लोमड़ी, सांपों और कछुओं से भी है।
  2. अनिल ने शुरुआत अपने गाँव लखासर से की। जैसे ही उन्हें हिरण के शिकार की आशंका की भनक पड़ती, वह मौके पर पहुँच जाते थे। शिकारियों को भगाने लगे। प्रतिरोध होने पर इधर शिकारी हतोत्साहित होने लगे तो उधर अनिल का मनोबल बढ़ने लगा। वह न केवल शिकारियों को शिकार करने से रोकते बल्कि शिकार कर लिए जाने पर शिकारियों के खिलाफ मुकदमे दर्ज कराने लगे। इस कारण क्षेत्र में लोग एक पर्यावरण कार्यकर्ता के रूप में उन्हें पहचानने लगे। आसपास और दूरदराज के गांवों से भी उन्हें शिकारियों के बारे में सूचनाएँ मिलने लगी।
  3. अनिल हर वक्त जीवों के बारे में सोचते हैं। उनकी हर जरूरत का ख्याल रखते हैं। गर्मियों में हिरणों के लिए पानी का संकट खड़ा हो जाता था। कई बार जल संकट का परिणाम हिरणों की मौत के रूप में सामने आता। गर्मियों में हिरण प्यास से न मरे, इसके लिए उन्होंने पानी का इंतजाम किया है। उन्होंने तीन साल पहले पानी के 60 एनिकेट (छोटे बाँध) बनवाए हैं। इस काम के लिए उन्होंने ग्रामीणों से निर्माण सामग्री एकत्र की और एनिकेट बनवा दिए। उन्हें कहीं भी घायल हिरण मिल जाता है तो वह उसे घर ले आते हैं उसकी मरहम-पट्टी करते हैं और स्वस्थ हो जाने पर स्वच्छ विचरण के लिए छोड़ देते हैं।

  3. उन्होंने आर्किटेक्चर के क्षेत्र में मशहूर आर्किटेक्ट लौरी बेकर से प्रेरणा ली। भारत में सस्टेनेबल आर्किटेक्चर की शुरूआत करने का श्रेय उन्हें ही दिया जाता है। शंकर ने उनके ही सिद्धांतों और सीख को समझा और आगे बढ़े। उनके बारे में वह कहते हैं, “उन्होंने भारत को समझा और निर्माण में भारतीयता को शामिल किया। गौर करने वाली बात है कि हमें भारतीय आर्किटेक्चर में गांधी जी के मूल्यों को शामिल करने के लिए इंग्लैंड के एक आदमी की ज़रूरत पड़ी। मैंने कभी उनके साथ काम नहीं किया लेकिन हमेशा उन्हें अपना मेंटर माना है।”

  1. गुरुग्राम जैसे शहर में घर को बनाया अर्बन फार्म, पूरे साल उगातीं हैं तरह–तरह की सब्जियां

  1. हर किसी को गार्डनिंग का शौक नहीं होता है लेकिन कुछ ऐसी परिस्थति बनती है कि ऐसे लोग भी बागवानी की शुरूआत कर देते हैं। ऐसी ही कहानी हरियाणा के गुरुग्राम में रहने वाली रूचिका की है। उन्होंने जब आसपास के लोगों को गार्डनिंग करते हुए देखा और उन्हें महसूस हुआ कि बाजार से वह जो कुछ भी सब्जी लाती हैं, वह ऑर्गेनिक नहीं है तो उन्होंने भी किचन गार्डन की शुरूआत कर दी।
  2. रूचिका के गार्डन में आपको हर मौसम में सब्जी मिल जाएगी। फिलहाल, वह सर्दियों की सब्जियों के लिए अपने गार्डन को तैयार कर रही हैं। रुचिका कहती हैं, “2-3 तरह की मूली, 2 -3 किस्म की गाज़र (लाल, पीली, काली), हरी मिर्च, काली मिर्च, फूलगोभी, ब्रोकॉली, सलाद की लगभग 15 किस्में, पुदीना, तुलसी, धनिया, पार्सले, पत्तागोभी, चकुंदर, सरसों, बीन्स आदि अपने गार्डन में उगाती हूँ। इसके अलावा 15-16 किस्म के फूल के पौधे भी हैं।”
  3. अपने पूरे गार्डन की देखभाल रूचिका खुद करती हैं। उनका कहना है कि उनके घर से बहुत ही कम कोई कचरा बाहर जाता है, वह रीसाइक्लिंग, रियूजिंग और कम्पोस्टिंग में विश्वास करती हैं। उनके किचन का सारा वेस्ट खाद और बायोएंजाइम बनाने में इस्तेमाल होता है। यहाँ तक कि उनके गार्डन का भी जो वेस्ट होता है जैसे सूखे पत्ते या फिर पुराने मौसम के सब्जियों के पौधे, बेल जिनसे हार्वेस्ट ले ली गई है और जिन्हें अब निकालना है- सभी कुछ को वह बायोएंजाइम बनाने में इस्तेमाल कर लेती हैं।
