  • दुनिया में कोविड-19 की 176 वैक्सीन रेस में, जानेंक्या है भारत की स्थिति

  1. भारत बायोटेक और जाइडस कैडिला के वैक्सीन क्लीनिकल ट्रायल के दूसरे चरण में पहुंच चुके है। भारत बायोटेक ने इस वैक्सीन को भारतीय आर्युिवज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (आइसीएमआर) और नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ वायरोलॉजी के साथ मिलकर विकसित करने में जुटा है। इसे कोवाक्सिन का नाम दिया गया है।
  2. जाइडस कैडिला के वैक्सीन जायकोव-डी के पहले चरण का ट्रायल सफल रहा था, जिसके बाद इसके दूसरे चरण का ट्रायल किया जा रहा है। पहले चरण के ट्रायल में जिन लोगों को इसकी खुराक दी गई, उन पर इसका कोई नकारात्मक असर देखने को नहीं मिला है।
  3. ऑक्सफोर्ड की वैक्सीन को विकसित करने में भारत के सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दे रहा है। महाराष्ट्र सहित देश के कई अन्य हिस्सों में इसका ट्रायल किया जा रहा है।

  1. बिजली वितरक कंपनी को घाटे से उबारने के साथ ही खुद आत्मनिर्भर बनी ओडिशा की बिजली दीदी रोजाना सुबह 10 बजे निकल जाती है बिजली बिल वसूलने।
  2. सन् 2019 में ओडिशा सरकारी की योजना सेल्फ हेल्प ग्रुप अर्थात स्वयं सहायक ग्रुप की भर्ती निकली और उसमें परीक्षा दी तो वहां उनका चयन हो गया। इसके बाद वह बिजली वितरक कंपनी सेंट्रल इलेक्ट्रिक सिटी सप्लाई यूटिलिटी आफ ओडिशा अर्थात सेसु के साथ जुड़ गई और अपनी मेहनत एवं लगन से न सिर्फ आत्मनिर्भर बनी बल्कि बिजली वितरक कंपनी के राजस्व को भी बढ़ाने का काम किया।  लोग अब जागरूक हो गए हैं और घर जाते ही मीटर रीडिंग मिल जाती है और लोग बिजली बिल का भुगतान कर देते हैं।
  3. प्रदेश में ऐसी लगभग 200 बिजली दीदी हैं, जिन्होंने अपनी मेहनत व लगन से न केवल आत्मनिर्भर बनी हैं, बल्कि बिजली वितरक कंपनी के राजस्व को बढ़ाने का काम किया है। सबसे खास बात यह है कि इस कार्य में बिजली दीदियों को शुरूआत में स्थानीय लोगों से कुछ परेशानी जरूर आयी मगर अब स्थानीय लोग भी खुश है कि उनके उपर बिजली बिल नहीं बकाया है, और बिजली वितरक कंपनी का भी राजस्व बढ़ गया है।

How this Hyderabad startup went from skilling youths to delivering e-learning to schools
Key points:

After quitting Motorola in 2008, Ananth set up Focus Ventures, which backed Hyderabad-based SkillPro, a social enterprise that aims to skill one million underprivileged youth. He took over as the chairman of SkillPro in 2013.  Soon after, as the Skill India Mission took off, SkillPro transitioned from offline skill training to an e-learning solution. In eight years, it has impacted over 300,000 youth across rural and urban areas and placed them in jobs. But, there was a pain point.

Hyderabad startup SkillPro launched mPowerO to tap into the rising demand for e-learning solutions and learning management systems during the pandemic.

With the lockdown on educational institutions unlikely to get over anytime soon, the thrust on e-learning and online classrooms is at an all-time high. SkillPro rolled out mPowerO in May to tap into this lockdown-induced market demand.

MemeChat: An app that helps meme creators get paid by brands for their creativity
Key points:

Started by two 22-year-olds, MemeChat is a space for creators, users and social media influencers to cash in on the meme-making phenomenon and was one of the winners of AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge.

The duo from SRM University graduated in Computer Science in 2020 and have been developers since the age of 15. They met each other when they were studying in Delhi Public School (Gurugram), and bonded over their mutual interest in software and technology.

The users can create memes using paid templates, and get paid upon their approval. As another option, users can earn making memes in the requested category and get paid by brands.

Currently, MemeChat has a total of 11 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees. Their app has a total of 650,000 users, with over 130,000 monthly active users and is available on both Android and iOS devices.

  1. 12वीं पास युवक ने शुरू किया प्रोसेसिंग का व्यवसाय, 650 आदिवासी महिलाओं को मिला रोज़गार

  1. राजेश ने बताया कि कई सालों तक बाहर काम करने के बाद वह अपने गाँव लौट आए क्योंकि उनकी वह अपने इलाके के लिए कुछ अलग करना चाहते थे।
  2. उन्होंने धीरे-धीरे महिलाओं का समूह बनाया और सभी को आश्वासन दिया कि वह उनसे बाजार भाव में सीताफल हर दिन खरीदेंगे। साल 2017 में राजेश ने जोवाकी एग्रोफ़ूड इंडिया की नींव रखी और इसे कोई कमर्शियल कंपनी बनाने की बजाय सोशल एंटरप्राइज बनाया। इसके अंतर्गत उन्होंने 12 गाँव की महिलाओं का समूह बनाया और उन्हें कई चरणों में ट्रेनिंग दी गई।
  3. जोवाकी एग्रोफ़ूड को भारत सरकार के सोशल स्टार्टअप प्रोग्राम, रफ़्तार में भी जगह मिली है। इसके अलावा, उन्हें IIM कोलकाता, विल्ग्रो फाउंडेशन, नियम एग्री बिज़नेस आदि से भी सपोर्ट मिल रहा है। कंपनी फ़िलहाल सीताफल और जामुन के अलावा हरे चने और आंवला पर काम कर रही है।
  4. उन्होंने लगभग 500 किसानों को जैविक खेती से जोड़ा है और महिलाओं को औषधीय खेती की ट्रेनिंग भी दिलाई है। राजेश कहते हैं कि उनका उद्देश्य लोगों को उनके पास उपलब्ध फलों और सब्जियों में वैल्यू एडिशन करके रोज़गार कमाने का ज़रिया देना है।

  1. Spices exports from India goes over Rs 21000 crore in 2019-20, records growth of 10 per cent

Key points:

  1. The exports of Indian spices and spice products surged to Rs 21,515.4 crore (USD 3033.44 million) and a volume of 11,83,000 tonnes in 2019-20, sustaining their robust demand in international markets despite stiff competition.
  2. During the previous year of 2018-19, India exported a total of 11,00,250 MT of spices and spices products. 
  3. In rupee terms, the spices exports in 2019-20 grew by 10 percent from Rs 19,505.81 crore and in dollar terms, the growth was 8 percent.
  4. Though the Indian spices are exported to 185 countries, China (24 percent), USA (16 percent), Bangladesh (six percent), Thailand (five percent), UAE (six percent), Sri Lanka, Malaysia, UK, Indonesia, and Germany are the major buyers contributing over 70 percent export earnings.

  • Water purifier startup DrinkPrime on Tuesday announced that it had raised Rs 21 crore ($3 million) in its pre-Series A round.

  1. Oxford COVID-19 vaccine final trials will be held in these 17 hospitals in India

  1. The phase II and phase III clinical trial of COVID-19 vaccine developed by the University of Oxford is all set to start in India
  2. Indian pharmaceutical major Serum Institute of India has initiated the process, according to report by news agency ANI.
  3. Pune based drug maker has selected 17 sites in India to conduct the trial. A total of 1,600 candidates will take part in the study.

India’s farm exports rise 23.24% in March-June 2020 despite pandemic
Key points:

  1. Agricultural exports rose 23% to Rs 25,553 crore in March-June this year despite the disruption caused by the pandemic.
  2. “Agricultural exports as a percentage of India’s agricultural GDP has increased from 9.4% in 2017-18 to 9.9% in 2018-19. While the agricultural imports as a percentage of India’s agricultural GDP has declined from 5.7% to 4.9% indicating exportable surplus and decreased dependence on import of agricultural products in India,” said a senior agriculture ministry official.
  3. The agriculture ministry has created product specific Export Promotion Forums promote eight agricultural and allied products like Grapes, Mango, Banana, Onion, Rice, Nutri-Cereals, Pomegranate and Floriculture
  4. “Forums will be in active touch with the producers, exporters and other relevant stakeholders of respective commodities and hear their problems, and facilitate, support and provide solutions to them. They will regularly study the market for respective commodities on a global basis,” the official said.

Key points:

  1. भारत में कोरोना की 3 वैक्सीन बनाई जा रही हैं। इनमें से एक (कोवैक्सिन) का थर्ड फेज का ट्रायल कल तक शुरू हो जाएगा। बाकी दो वैक्सीन में से एक का ट्रायल फेज-1 और दूसरे का फेज-2 में है। स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय और नीति आयोग ने मंगलवार को प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में यह जानकारी दी।
  2. बीते 24 घंटे में 8 लाख 99 हजार 864 टेस्ट किए गए। यह एक दिन में सबसे ज्यादा टेस्टिंग है। इन्हें जल्द ही बढ़ाकर 10 लाख किया जाएगा।
  3. देश में अब हर दिन औसतन 55 हजार मरीज ठीक हो रहे हैं।
  4. रोज 1.92%, जबकि हर हफ्ते 1.94% लोगों की मौत हो रही है। यानी दोनों आंकड़े 2% से कम हैं।
  5. संक्रमित होने की दर 10% से घटकर 7.2% पर आ गई है।
  6. एक्टिव केस, कुल केसों का महज 24% हैं।
  7. अब तक करीब 20 लाख लोग ठीक हो चुके हैं। यह आंकड़ा एक्टिव केसों से 2.93 गुना ज्यादा है।

  1. People’s Bank of China buys into ICICI Bank amid ‘Boycott China’ movement

Key points:

  1. The People’s Bank of China has now made an investment in ICICI Bank. The Chinese bank has emerged as one of the investors in ICICI Bank’s Rs 15,000 crore capital raising exercise which ended last week.
  2. The Chinese bank signed a cheque of Rs 15 crore in the private bank under the qualified institutional placement.
  3. People’s Bank of China was amongst the 357 institutional investors which included domestic mutual funds, insurance companies and global institutions that subscribed to the issue. The prominent investors among them were Government of Singapore, Morgan Investment and Societe Generale.

  1. India Life Sciences Fund invests ₹100 cr in Inventia Healthcare

Key points:

  1. Adding to the spree of private equity investments in the Indian pharmaceutical sector, India Life Sciences Fund III has invested ₹100 crore in Inventia Healthcare Ltd.
  2. This is the second private equity fund to invest in Inventia Healthcare. PE firm Jacob Ballas had invested ₹90 crore in Inventia Healthcare between 2008 and 2009.
  3. “This infusion of funds will be used as growth capital for our pharma and nutraceutical business, and further strengthen our balance sheet through deleveraging and accelerate our goal of becoming a debt-free company,” said Janak Shah, chairman and managing director of Inventia.

  1. प्रयागराज के पीएचडी स्कॉलर ने गंगा की मिट्टी से बनाई बिजली, राष्ट्रपति कोविंद करेंगे सम्मानित

  1. संगम नगरी प्रयागराज के रहने वाले एक इंजीनियरिंग शोधार्थी जितेंद्र प्रसाद ने गंगा नदी की मिट्टी से बिजली उत्पादन की तकनीकी विकसित की है।
  2. जितेंद्र को इसके लिए राष्ट्रपति द्वारा गांधीवादी यंग टेक्नोलॉजिकल इनोवेशन (ज्ञाति) अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। पिछले चार साल की कड़ी मेहनत के बाद जितेंद्र को उपलब्धि हासिल हुई है।
  3. जितेंद्र ने बताया कि, पहले 12 वोल्ट की बैटरी को चार्ज किया और फिर इसे 230 वोट के एसी वोल्टेज में बदलकर बिजली के बल्ब को नौ घंटे तक जलाया।
  4. इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार की सेलेक्शन कमेटी में पांच पद्मश्री और दो पद्मविभूषण प्राप्त वैज्ञानिक एवं अन्य आईआईटी के प्रोफेसर थे, जिन्होंने जितेंद्र प्रसाद का साक्षात्कार लिया।

  1. South Korean EV giant Edison Motors set to invest Rs 5,000 crore in UP

Key points:

  1. South Korean company Edison Motors is looking to invest between Rs 3,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in the coming months. The company is scouting for land near Lucknow and the Yamuna Expressway to set up the plant.
  2. Managing director of the company, YK Lee, led a delegation to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday to discuss the possibility of investing in the state.
  3. Lee said that work will be rolled out in three phases. In the first phase, the company is looking to invest Rs 500-700 crore, Rs 1,000-1,500 crore in the second phase and another Rs 2,000-Rs 3,000 in the third phase. \
  4. Accordingly, it is likely that 2,000 people will be employed in the first phase, 3,000 in the second phase and about 5,000 in the third phase.

The MD added that over 90% of the parts for the electric vehicles will be manufactured in UP. Not only will this help the MSME sector but would help to generate employment in the state.

  1. India’s Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) plans to offer 600 million LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs in rural areas at ₹10 per piece, without any government support or subsidy, according to a top executive at the state-run firm.
  2. Under the new Gram UJALA scheme, carbon credit revenue to contribute ₹60 per LED bulb piece
  3. The Gram UJALA scheme will also help improve energy access in rural areas

  • Hubballi-Dharwad get Rs 2,242 crore investment

Key points:

  1. The state government has cleared proposals for setting up five projects in the region, involving an investment of Rs 2,242 crore. These projects are expected to create 939 direct jobs and about 10,000 indirect jobs. Land for these projects have already been sanctioned.
  2. HM Revannagowda, managing director, Karnataka Uyog Mitra (KUM), said that three of the five companies, Abellon Goodsteps, Microfinish Trading and Ionidea Enterprises Solutions, had signed MoUs during the Investors Meet in Hubballi. “These MoUs have now been cleared. Tata Motors and Microfinish Pumps approached KUM directly,” he said.

  1. 225 रुपए में भारत में मिलेगी सबसे सस्ती वैक्सीन  ऑक्सफोर्डएस्ट्राजेनेका की वैक्सीन, अमेरिका में कीमत 1500 से 4500 रुपए के बीच होगी

Key points:

  1. अभी किसी भी वैक्सीन को ड्रग कंट्रोलर से अप्रूवल नहीं मिला, लेकिन इसे पाने के लिए मारामारी जैसे हालात बन रहे
  2. अधिक आय वाले देशों ने वैक्सीन तैयार कर रही कम्पनियों के साथ प्री-परचेज डील की ताकि ये सबसे पहले उन्हें उपलब्ध हो
  3. इस वैक्सीन का ट्रायल देश में 18 जगहों पर होगा। इसमें 1600 वॉलंटियर्स शामिल होंगे। सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया के सीईओ अदार पूनावाला का कहना है कि अगर ट्रायल कामयाब होता है तो 2021 की पहली तिमाही तक इसके 30 से 40 करोड़ डोज तैयार किए जा सकेंगे। वैक्सीन इस साल नवम्बर तक आ सकती है।
  4. सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट का कहना है, इस वैक्सीन के एक डोज की कीमत एक हजार रुपए से भी कम होगी। लेकिन, हाल ही में सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया ने बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन और वैक्सीन अलायंस संस्था गावी के साथ एक करार किया है। इस करार के तहत भारत और निम्न आय वाले 92 देशों को मात्र 3 डॉलर यानी 225 रुपए में यह वैक्सीन मिल सकेगी।

  1. Developers all around India are tweaking their apps to give users a more “Made in India” idea and are seizing the opportunity the ban has presented.\
  2. App developer Kundan Singh has made necessary adjustments to his flagship app Paper Scanner to ensure it is ready for the Indian market. Singh has been able to boost his app’s popularity to 4000 downloads daily.
  3. Also, local developers at the Innovana Tech Labs, a tech firm in Jaipur launched Indian App finder on Google Play Store after. So far, more than 500 Indian apps can be found in their database.
  4. With the ban, more Indians can now turn to Roposo, which has over 57 million downloads, with over 25 million active users, monthly. Roposo is slowly gaining more popularity with the number of downloads skyrocketing since June.

  1. The defence ministry will stop the import of 101 items “beyond given timeline” to boost indigenous production according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), Union minister Rajnath Singh said today.  
  2. This would mean that the domestic industry will receive contracts worth almost ₹ 4 lakh crore within the next six to seven years.
  3. The embargo will be implemented in phases between 2020 and 2024, the minister said.
  4. The list includes high technology weapon systems like “artillery guns, assault rifles, corvettes, sonar systems, transport aircrafts, light combat helicopters, radars and many other items”, the Centre said in a statement.

  • PM Modi launches Rs 1 lakh crore agri-infra fund, says move to enhance India’s ability to compete globally

Key points:

  1. In a move which may help farmers get better price of their produce at farm gates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched Rs 1 lakh crore agriculture infrastructure fund to support building community farming assets across the country and said the efforts would enhance India’s ability to compete globally in the agri sector.
  2. These farm infrastructures will enable farmers to get higher value of their produce as they would be able to store and sell at It at better prices as per market conditions, reduce wastage, and increase processing and value addition.
  3. On this occasion, the PM also released Rs 17,000 crore to nearly 8.5 crore farmers under sixth instalment of the ongoing PM-Kisan scheme.
  4. Under this 10-year scheme, Rs one lakh crore will be provided by banks and financial institutions as loans with interest subvention of 3% per annum and credit guarantee coverage for loans up to Rs 2 crore for a maximum period of seven years. There will be a moratorium for repayment from 6 months to 2 years.
