1st Recognised Head of State of India- Netaji Subash

Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa, One of the 14 children of a successful lawyer, Janakinath Bose, and his wife, Prabhavati Devi. A graduate of Kolkata’s Presidency College, he was subsequently sent by his father to England to prepare for entry into the prestigious Indian Civil Service.

Although he passed his ICS exam with flying colors, he jumped into the freedom struggle. Strongly influenced by Gandhi, Chittaranjan Das and the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, he joined the Indian National Congress and was jailed 11 times by the British between 1920 and 1941.

Netaji’s magnetic appeal aroused the youth of Bharat. For heroes to be made from the modern youth, Netaji’s escape from Bharat to Germany by land and to Japan through sea, strengthening the INA and the subsequent attack on the British army should be a must read for youngsters.

He was the first recognized Head of State of Independent India. The Provisional government of Free India was formed in 1943 and Netaji became Head. In its existence it received recognition from nine governments. They were: Japan, Burma, Croatia, Germany, the Philippines, Nanking China, Manchuto, Italy and Siam (Thailand).

This government was officially proclaimed in Singapore at a mass rally on 21 October 1943 where Netaji was unanimously elected as the Head of the State and the Supreme Commander of the Indian National Army. While taking the oath he said:

In the name of God, I take this sacred oath that to liberate India and the three hundred eighty million of my countrymen. I, Subhash Chandra Bose, will continue the sacred war of freedom till the last breath of my life. I shall remain always a servant of India, and to look after the welfare of three hundred eighty million of Indian brothers and sisters shall be for me my highest duty. Even after winning freedom, I will always be prepared to shed even the last drop of my blood for the preservation of India’s freedom.

The Provisional Government of Free India had five Ministers with Netaji as the Head of the State, Prime Minister and Minister for War and advisers representing the Indian communities in East Asia. The first momentous decision which the new government took was its declaration of war on Britain and the United States, which was decided on the night of 22-23 October.

The fact that the INA was able to capture Rangoon, Imphal and Andaman and Nicobar islands ( named as Shaheed & Swaraj) against the British army speaks volumes for the raw courage of Netaji. Very few know that the great war cry of ‘Jai Hind’ was given to the nation by Netaji.

The ‘Do or Die’ used by Gandhiji during the Quit India Movement of 1942, was given by Netaji.

Highlighting Bose’s real contribution late R.C. Majumdar writes,

“It seldom falls to the lot of a historian to have his views, differing radically from those generally accepted without demur, confirmed by such an unimpeachable authority. As far back as 1948 I wrote in an article that the contribution made by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose towards the achievement of freedom in 1947 was no less, and perhaps, far more important than that of Mahatma Gandhi…” The ‘unimpeachable authority’ he cited happens to be Clement Attlee, the Prime Minister of Britain at the time of India’s Independence. As this is of fundamental importance, and Majumdar’s conclusion so greatly at variance with conventional history, it is worth placing it on record. (See Volume III, pp. 609-10). When B.P. Chakravarti was acting as Governor of West Bengal, Lord Attlee visited India and stayed as his guest for three days at the Raj Bhavan. Chakravarti asked Attlee about the real grounds for granting Independence to India. Specifically, his question was, when the Quit India movement lay in ruins years before 1947, what was the need for the British to leave in such a hurry. Attlee’s response is most illuminating and important for history. Here is the Governor’s account of what Attlee told him:

“In reply Attlee cited several reasons, the most important were the activities of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose which weakened the very foundation of the attachment of the Indian land and naval forces to the British Government. Towards the end, I asked Lord Attlee about the extent to which the British decision to quit India was influenced by Gandhi’s activities. On hearing this question Attlee’s lips widened in a smile of disdain and he uttered, slowly, putting emphasis on each single letter-”mi-ni-mal”.” ( Ref : Three-volume History of the Freedom Movement in India, Also courtesy N.S.Rajaram )

The Navy had already shown its first sign of revolts and it was the fear of mutiny by the Indian armed forces that forced the issue of freedom.

Being a contemporary, it is quite possible that Nehru considered Netaji as a competitor for the PM’s post, but in fact, Netaji had repeatedly and emphatically declared in his public speeches in East Asia that if the INA succeeded in liberating India he would toss over that freedom to the people and retire into spiritual oblivion;

…and yet Govt of Independent India suppressed the facts associated with Netaji and gave credence to his “death theory”.

Moving forward from his famous call” Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom” , we need to deliberate on how to “Live and Work for a stronger Bharat” and expose all the forces that have so far suppressed the history and have degraded the contribution of many of our national heroes like Netaji.

CIA more forthcoming on ‘secret’ Netaji files as on 6th Dec 2014

Some documents (in possession of The Sunday Guardian) released by the CIA, under the US Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) earlier this year, clearly cast doubts on the reported death of Bose. In fact, one of the CIA reports was filed in 1964, a long time after Netaji disappeared in 1945. The CIA response came following an FOIA application filed by NRI Abhishek Bose, author Anuj Dhar and Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji’s grandnephew, last year.

In its reply dated 28 January 2014, the CIA enclosed four declassified documents. Among them, the oldest one goes back to May 1946, in which a confirmation of Netaji’s death has been sought from the Secretary of State in Washington DC. “The hold which Bose had over the Indian imagination was tremendous and that if he should return to this country, trouble would result,” it reads.

In a response dated July 1945, which was almost a year after Netaji’s reported death in an alleged air crash in Taiwan, it was stated that “a search of our files indicates that there is no information available regarding subject’s death that would shed any light on the reliability of the reports”.

In another report dated January 1949, the agency noted the rumour that Bose was “still alive”. In November 1950, a highly placed source informed the CIA that Bose was in Siberia, waiting for a comeback. “It is now currently rumoured in the Delhi area that ‘Netaji’, which is Bose’s nickname, is still alive and is in Siberia, where he is waiting for a chance to make a big come back.

British ordered assassination of Netaji: New facts are coming out that British ordered assassination of Netaji after he escaped from house arrest in 1941. Eunan O-Halpin of Trinity College, Dublin, made the stunning revelation while delivering lecture at Netaji Research Bureau. A history professor, O-Halpin said the plan of British Special Operation Executive to assassinate Bose, on his way to Germany was foiled as he changed his route and went via Russia. O-Halpin had handed over the classified documents to Krishna Bose. Sugato Bose, a professor of history in the Harvard University, said he had already informed PM Manmohan Singh about the matter. “I met PM on July 26 and informed him of the existence of documents and told him that unveiling these documents would not affect bilateral ties with UK.” said Bose. But who really killed Netaji? Netaji had unified Hindus and Muslims in INA that drove British Army to its knees and came up to Imphal and raised India flags. The Taiwan plane crash was the biggest cover up. It is reasonable to suspect that BRITISH WERE BEHIND KILLING NETAJI. British were eager to get rid of Netaji because with Netaji presence they could not have split India. British ruled India with the policy of divide and rule. Netaji did not like that unlike other Indian leaders like Nehru or Gandhi. Some say, Netaji was handed over to Russians by the Japanese and Stalin ordered his execution. But now British archives are making it clear that BRITISH MAY HAVE EXECUTED HIM IN SECRET. THIS WAS AN ACT OF ANGLO-JAPAN SECRETE PACT. Japan surrendered to Brit & US on 15th Aug, 1945 and last air trip of Netaji was 3 days after, on 18th Aug 1945. So a surrendered Japan was no longer azad hind ally, as because Netaji was not in a mood to surrender and BRITISH REVIVED THEIR OLD PLAN TO ASSASSINATE BOSE. British gained a lot from his disappearance. They could split India into India and Pak. It was a lesson taught to Indians by British before they dilute their empire. There lies the motive for killing Netaji. O–Halpin said the British thought Netaji would travel to Germany from Afghanistan via Iran, Iraq and Turkey and informed representatives in Istanbul and Cairo to carry out the operation. Still British are not competent enough to tell the truth. It is reasonable to believe that JAPAN SOLD NETAJI TO BRITISH AND BRITISH EXECUTED HIM IN SECRET. ACCORDINGLY BOTH JAPAN AND BRITISH ARE HIDING TRUTH AND SPEAKING LIES ON NETAJI.

    Japan sold Netaji and Netaji-dummy to British;
In WW-I, Japan was an ally of British. Before WW-II, Japan-US trade war and political war started, this led to actual war between US and Japan. So British became an enemy to Japan by diplomatic manipulation as US – British alliance was there. After WW-II, Japan revived their old connection with British via spies. Japanese and British spies were enough linked before WW-II. Japanese spies agreed to eliminate Netaji. Motive was to appease the British and purchase security for Japan royal family. Thus, Japan sold Netaji to British and British eliminated him. The false news of air crash was Japan’s fabrication. In any controversial case, liar is to be suspected first.
Netaji’s plan to start second independence war with the help of USSR was known to Japan. There was enough scope for British and Japanese spies to develop a common minimum program against pro-communist agenda of Netaji. Why should Japanese imperialism agree to patronize emergence of independent India as a permanent communist ally? Is it not more logical to fulfill British condition and purchase favor? Why Japan royal family was not tried as a war criminal? What is the mystery behind this favor?
There is another point about gumnami baba. Who was he? Gumnami baba was a dummy created as a part of common minimum program of Japanese imperialism and British imperialism. In axis camp, creation of dummy by plastic surgery was a common practice. Hitler and Mussolini were having number of dummies. Japan sold Netaji-dummy to British. British deputed this dummy at faizabad of Uttar Pradesh, with a purpose to create confusion that as if Netaji’s death or life is doubtful. The confusion prevented the nation to be doubtful about role of Japan or British. So gumnami baba of faizabad is a common creation of Japanese spies and British spies. Never had he told the truth. If he had told anything, that must be lie. In a controversial case, liar is to be suspected. So, Japan sold Netaji to British and British executed him in secret. Japan sold Netaji-dummy to British and British deputed him at faizabad of Uttar-Pradesh. Japan surrendered to US-UK side on 15th august 1945. Netaji’s last flight was on 18th august 1945. A surrendered Japan was no longer an ally of azad hind. They worked as per their new mentors, the British.

Here is an old news on Netaji , which proves that Japan had played some foul game with Netaji for their own imperialist interest.
Japanese had altered Netaji’s flight plan.
Mr Debnath das , formerly general secretary of India independence league, in south east Asia told the Khosla commission, that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, had mentioned to him on the night of Aug 16, 17 1945, that the Japanese had changed their plan regarding his departure from Saigon at the eleventh hour. Appearing as a witness before the commission, inquiring the disappearance of Netaji Bose, Mr Dass quoted Netaji as telling him and some Indian national army officers, who were present at the time, that japans wanted to take him to Tokyo instead of Manchuria. He and some important INA officers present at Saigon did not like the idea and asked Japanese officers where Netaji Bose was being taken. The Japanese replied “do not worry. You will be taken to the same place, where he is going. “They however, refused to reveal the name of the place, me das added. Me dass was the last witness to give evidence before mr justice g d Khosla on the commission‘s sitting in Delhi. Mr Das replied to the negative to a question by Mr Khosla, whether Netaji had expressed his dislike to the idea of going to a place, where the Japanese wanted to take him, but said, “It appeared to me as though Netaji was not happy at the change of destination. Mr das said Netaji had carried 18 metal boxes containing treasures belonging to the provisional govt of Azad Hind.

In my opinion it is more important how Netaji planned to administer India and can we complete is dream. What British did to Netaji shall not take a step ahead. On the other hand we shall get stuck and fail to bring his dreams to reality.

I consider this type of treatment to his dreams is an insult to national hero.

Setting a record straight is as important as living their dreams. It is equally important to state what the British did and what the Nehru family did post independence to the great heroes of Bharat like Netaji and Savarkar. It is the beginning of living their dreams. It is only when they get their due position in history, that the people of Bharat will get to know what they did through the mainstream curriculum. When the people of Bharat cannot get them their due prestige, how can they live their dream ?

    British ordered assassination of Netaji
Now facts are coming out that British ordered assassination of Netaji Subhas Bose after he escaped from house arrest in 1941 and left India to create first Indian National Army to fight the British imperialists.
Eunan O”Halpin of Trinity College, Dublin, made the stunning revelation on Sunday evening while delivering the Sisir Kumar Bose lecture at the Netaji Research Bureau.
A history professor, O”Halpin said the British Special Operation Executive’s plan to assassinate Bose, popularly known as “Netaji” (the leader), on his way to Germany was foiled as he changed his route and went via Russia.
O”Halpin said he had handed over the classified documents backing this to Krishna Bose, a former MP and wife of Netaji’s nephew Sisir Bose who drove him out of Kolkata on the wintry night of Jan 17, 1941 in secrecy.
Netaji’s relative Sugato Bose, a professor of history in the Harvard University, said he had already informed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the matter.
“I met the prime minister on July 26 and informed him of the existence of the documents and told him that unveiling these documents would not affect bilateral ties with UK in any way. Netaji himself was not against the people of Britain but the imperial government,” said Bose.
But who really killed the real Indian hero of independence? Netaji had unified Indians and Muslims in the Indian National Army that drove British Army to its knees and came up to Imphal, Manipur and raised India flags on India soil.
The Taiwan plane crash where the world knows Netaji died was the biggest cover up. According to international think tanks, British were behind killing Netaji. British were eager to get rid of Netaji because with Netaji’s presence they could not have split India into India and Pakistan. British ruled India with the policy of divide and rule. Netaji did not but that unlike other Indian leaders like Nehru or Mahatama Gandhi. Some say, Netaji was handed over to Russians by the Japanese and Stalin ordered his execution. But now British archives are making it clear that British may have executed him in secret. This was an act of Anglo-Japan secrete pact. Because Japan is also involved, so they spread the lie on air crash. If that is the case that was in volition of international prisoner of war rules and norms.
British gained a lot from Netaji’s disappearance for ever. They could spill India into India and Pakistan. They could make millions of Indians wage war against each other based on religion and make many more millions homeless. It was an ideal lesson taught to Indians by the British before British had diluted their empire in Asia.
Netaji would have never tolerated this. And their lies the motivation for killing Netaji.
O”Halpin said the British thought Netaji would travel to Germany from Afghanistan via Iran, Iraq and Turkey and informed representatives in Istanbul and Cairo to carry out the operation.
“I think the British government should make public all the relevant documents about Netaji, since this issue is not going to affect ties between India and United Kingdom in any way now,” he said.
The revelation comes at a time when the Mukherjee Commission probing the mysterious disappearance of Bose 60 years ago comes to the end of its inquiry.
The panel, which has received several extensions and is to submit its report on Nov 14, will visit Russia in September to establish a trail of the leader’s alleged movements after August 1945 when he was supposed to have died in a plane crash in Taiwan
So Japan sold Netaji to British and British killed him.

The death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the legendary hero of the Indian Independence Movement, has always been surrounded by mystery. Some believed for a long time that Netaji was not dead, he was simply hiding away. The mystery of his death has become more complex through a research in the Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. In a discussion at Netaji Research Bureau the researcher gave some details about the possibility of subhas Bose being killed by the British intelligence.
In 1905, British-Japan agreement was signed. As per the agreement, Japan will support British interest in south Asia (India) and British will support Japan interest in Korea. So Japan and British were well linked. Accordingly their spies also established a link which is not very secret to historians now.
After Second World War, Japanese spies restored their link with British spies. Both agreed to eliminate Netaji. British did it with a purpose to eliminate their enemy. Japan did it with a purpose to appease the British and protect the interest of Japan even after its defeat.
So, ultimately Japan sold Netaji to British and purchased favor for their royal family and nation. Then they spread the lie regarding Netaji’s death.

IN FIRST WORLD WAR, JAPAN WAS AN ALLY OF BRITISH. BEFORE SECOND WORLD WAR JAPN-US TRADE WAR AND POLITICAL WAR STARTED, WHICH LED TO ACTUAL WAR BETWEEN US AND JAPAN. SO BRITISH BECAME AN ENEMY TO JAPAN BY DIPLOMATIC MANIPULATION AS US – BRITISH ALLIANCE WAS THERE. SO IT IS A PRINTING MISTAKE IN THE PAGES OF HISTORY THAT JAPAN BECAME AN ALLY TO AZAD HIND. JAPAN WAS A WRORNG ALLY OF AZAD HIND. THEY WERE HAVING THEIR OWN IMPERIALIST AGENDA. THEY BECAME AN ALLY OF NETAJI AND AZAD HIND BY MISTAKE OF HISTORY.
AFTER THE SECOND WORLD WAR, JAPAN REVIVED THEIR OLD CONNECTION WITH BRITISH VIA SPIES. JAPANESE SPIES AND BRITISH SPIES WERE ENOUGH LINKED BEFORE SECOND WORLD WAR. JAPANESE SPIES AGREED TO KILL NETAJI. MOTIVE WAS TO APEASE THE BRITISH AND PURCHASE SECURITY FOR JAPAN ROYAL FAMILY.
SO JAPAN KILLED NETAJI. BECAUSE THEY ARE THE KILLER SO THEY SPREAD THE LIE REGARDING HIS DEATH. THE FALSE NEWS OF AIR CRASH WAS JAPAN”S FABRICATION. ANY MURDER CASE , LIER IS TO BE SUSPECTED FIRST . AS JAPAN TOLD THE LIE FIRST SO JAPAN IS TO BE SUSPECTED.

NETAJI WAS KILLED BY JAPANESE SPIES. BEFORE SECOND WORLD WAR, BRITISH SPIES AND JAPANESE SPIES WERE ENOUGH LINKED. THERE WAS JAPAN – BRITISH OPEN AGREEMENT ALSO, WHERE BOTH SIDE SPIES PLAYED A ROLE. AT THE END OF THE WAR, JAP SPIES RESTORED THEIR LINK WITH BRITISH; AGREED TO ELIMINATE ONE BRITISH ENEMY ( SUBHASH) ; AND THUS PURCHASE SAFETY , SECURITY FOR THEIR OWN ROYAL FAMILY. US WAS INTERESTED TO TRY JAPAN KING FOR WAR CRIME, BUT CHURCHILL SAVED HIM. WHY ? HERE LIES THE MISSING LINK.
THE SO CALLED AIR CRASH WAS CAUSED UNDER JAPANESE ONLY. THEY WERE HOLDING THE KEY. WHY THEY WILL ALLOW SUBHASH TO DISAPPEAR FROM THEIR SIDE AND RE-APPEAR AS AN ALLY OF CHINA OR RUSSIA TO START ANOTHER ANTI-BRITISH WAR ? IS IT NOT BETTER TO SERVE JAPANESE INTEREST THAN INDIAN INTEREST?

British documents show that during last days of WW II, Viceroy Wavell did not want Netaji brought to India as a prisoner. British preferred for dealing with him ‘on the spot’. Bose was stimulating a post-war upsurge against British. He thought that India’s partition was inevitable if British were allowed to “transfer power”. Bose’s aim in 1945 was not just to escape the British pursuit. He had foreknowledge of Japan’s decision to surrender. In the spring of 1945, he wanted to lead a challenge against the forces of Allies. He wanted to court death in battle. He thought that, after Aung San of Burma switched over to British side at the last moment, the INA needed to set an example of patriotic bravery. He was dissuaded from this course because two divisions of the INA were still intact and he thought of a new role for this patriotic force in the postwar situation. Unlike other leaders of the Japan-occupied Southeast Asian countries, he, at one stage, thought of staying with INA troops in Singapore to await the arrival of the Mountbatten-led British Indian occupation force. This course was abandoned on August 14, 1945, on the advice of members of AH govt. On Aug 14, 1945, some information was brought to him from Thailand. This information led him to abandon the plan that INA should await the capture of Singapore by the British. There is no record of the information that caused the AH govt to ask Netaji to fly to Tokyo for final consultations with Jap govt. Netaji had been forewarned of British preference for dealing with him “on the spot”? Did he fear that he would not be taken to India as a prisoner? He knew of the existence of the Allies’ spies in INA and behind the Japanese lines. As the war drew to a close, important people changed sides. They acted on the Allies’ directives. Even in Japan there were people who wanted to please the victors. They were ready to pay price new masters demanded. The British Foreign Office had ordered the assassination of Netaji in 1941, just after he made his “grand escape”. But his decision to change route and reach Germany via Russia had scuttled their plan. Eunan O’Halpin of Trinity College, Dublin, made this claim at Netaji Research Bureau. O’Halpin said the British Special Operation Executive (SOE) (formed in 1940 to carry out sabotage activities) informed its representatives in Istanbul and Cairo that Bose was thought to be travelling from Afghanistan to Germany via Iran, Iraq and Turkey. They were asked to arrange his assassination. O’Halpin handed over relevant documents to Krishna Bose. On June 13, 1941, the British SOE confirmed to Istanbul that the assassination order still stood. After Japan surrendered, again scope came for British to utilize Japan against Netaji. So, British must have utilized this new opportunity and assassinated him in secret.
