Bangladeshi Woman Arrest Leads to Hyderabad Drug Factory Raid, ₹12,000 Crore Seized

A Bangladeshi woman’s arrest in Mumbai has exposed a massive drug racket, leading to the seizure of narcotics worth ₹12,000 crore from a Hyderabad-based factory.

In one of the largest drug busts in recent years, Mumbai’s Mira Bhayandar Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police uncovered an illegal drug manufacturing unit in Hyderabad’s Cherlapally area.

The factory was reportedly engaged in producing the banned drug methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MD), with the seized stock valued at nearly ₹12,000 crore, according to India Today.

The breakthrough came on August 8, when Crime Branch Unit 4 of MBVV Police arrested 23-year-old Bangladeshi national Fatima Murad Shaikh from Mumbai. Investigations revealed that she had been ferrying drugs from the Cherlapally unit in Telangana.

Acting on this lead, police raided the factory on September 5. During the operation, officers confiscated 32,000 litres of raw material used for drug production, along with 5.968 kilograms of MD.

Authorities confirmed that 12 individuals connected to the racket have been arrested so far from Mumbai and Telangana. In addition to the drugs, three four-wheeler vehicles, a two-wheeler, and 27 mobile phones believed to be part of the trade were also seized.

Officials described the raid as a significant strike against interstate drug trafficking, disrupting a wide network with operations spanning multiple regions. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections and identify the masterminds behind the operation.
