3. रूस के दौरे पर गए रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह को मास्‍को ने भरोसा दिया था कि वह पाकिस्‍तान को हथियार नहीं देगा। इससे पहले रूस ने पाकिस्‍तान को आधा दर्जन हेलिकॉप्‍टर दिए थे जिसका भारत ने व‍िरोध किया था। इसके बाद रूस ने इन हेलिकॉप्‍टर्स की सप्‍लाइ को रोक दिया था। रूस भारत को सबसे ज्‍यादा हथियारों की आपूर्ति करने वाला देश है। इसमें परमाणु ऊर्जा से चलने वाली सबमरीन शामिल है।

1. Tomato prices sky-rocket in Pakistan; Imran Khan govt blames India

1. Tomato prices have sky-rocketed in Pakistan, touching Rs 200 per kg-mark across major cities including Karachi and Islamabad this week. Despite the country importing essential commodities to meet the demand, the prices continue to rise every day, leading to high inflation.
2. The current spike in prices, however, is blamed on a ban in imports from Iran and Afghanistan.

1. पाकिस्तान की खुफिया एजेंसी इंटर-सर्विसेज इंटेलिजेंस (आईएसआई) को लड़ाकू विमान संबंधी जानकारी मुहैया कराने को लेकर हिंदुस्तान एरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड (एचएएल) के एक कर्मचारी को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।
2. महाराष्ट्र पुलिस ने शुक्रवार को बताया कि व्यक्ति भारतीय लड़ाकू विमान और उसकी विनिर्माण इकाई संबंधी खुफिया जानकारी आईएसआई को दे रहा था।
3. एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने कहा, ‘राज्य आतंकवाद रोधी दस्ते (एटीएस) की नासिक इकाई को व्यक्ति के बारे में विश्वसनीय खुफिया जानकारी मिली थी। व्यक्ति आईएसआई के लगातार संपर्क में था।’ उन्होंने बताया कि व्यक्ति भारतीय लड़ाकू विमान और उसकी संवेदनशील विस्तृत जानकारी संबंधी खुफिया सूचना के अलावा नासिक स्थित ओझर में एचएएल विमान विनिर्माण इकाई, वायुसेना अड्डे और विनिर्माण इकाई में प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्र संबंधी जानकारी दे रहा था।
4. आरोपी के खिलाफ शासकीय गुप्तता अधिनियम के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस अधिकारी ने कहा कि उसके पास से पांच सिम कार्ड के साथ तीन मोबाइल हैंडसेट और दो मेमोरी कार्ड जब्त किए गए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि फोन और सिम कार्ड जांच के लिए फॉरेंसिक साइंस लैबोरेटरी भेजे जा रहे हैं
5. इससे पहले पांच अक्तूबर को नासिक से ही एक व्यक्ति को गिरफ्तार किया गया था। नासिक की एक अदालत ने यहां के देवलाली के रक्षा क्षेत्र की तस्वीरें पाकिस्तान के एक व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप में भेजने के आरोप में एक व्यक्ति को नौ अक्तूबर तक के लिए पुलिस हिरासत में भेज दिया था।

2. काले धन को लेकर  स्विट्जरलैंड के साथ संधि के तहत सूचना के आदान-प्रदान की नई व्यवस्था के तहत स्विट्जरलैंड सरकार ने भारतीयों के स्विस बैंक खातों की दूसरी सूची भारत सरकार को मुहैया कराई है। स्विट्जरलैंड सरकार ने कहा है कि उसने 86 देशों के साथ 31 लाख वित्तीय खातों की जानकारी साझा की है।
3. भारत उन 86 देशों में शामिल है जिनके साथ स्विट्जरलैंड के संघीय कर प्रशासन (एफटीए) ने इस साल सूचना के स्वत: आदान-प्रदान पर वैश्विक मानकों के ढांचे के तहत वित्तीय खातों की जानकारी दी है
4. अधिकारियों ने कहा कि इस साल 86 देशों के साथ जो जानकारियां साझा की गई हैं उसमें एक बड़ी संख्या भारतीय नागरिकों और संस्थाओं से संबंधित है। उन्होंने कहा कि स्विस अधिकारियों ने भारत के अनुरोध पर पिछले एक साल में 100 से अधिक भारतीय नागरिकों और संस्थाओं के बारे में जानकारी साझा की है, जिनके खिलाफ कर चोरी और वित्तीय गड़बड़ियों की जांच चल रही थी।

1. संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र की तरफ से जारी एक शॉर्ट वीडियो में रागिनी ने बताया है कि इस तरह के शांति अभियान का सदस्‍य बनना उनके लिए एक सपने के सच होने जैसा है। रागिनी 6 अप्रैल 2019 को संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र के शांति अभियान का हिस्‍सा बनी थीं। इस मिशन में वो अकेली नहीं हैं, बल्कि उनके पति भी इसी मिशन का हिस्‍सा हैं। उन्‍होंने ही यूएन मिशन के लिए रागिनी को प्रेरित भी किया था।
2. रागिनी दक्षिणी सूडान में तैनात हैं। ये देश काफी समय से हिंसा की चपेट में है। इसका सबसे ज्‍यादा खामियाजा यहां की महिलाओं और बच्‍चों को उठाना पड़ रहा है। हजारों की तादाद में यहां पर लोग अपने ही देश में शरणार्थी बनकर रह गए हैं और यूएन की मदद पर जीवन गुजार रहे हैं। ऐसे में एक महिला अधिकारी के तौर पर रागिनी यूएन के शिविरों में रह रही महिलाओं के लिए भगवान से कम नहीं हैं। रागिनी बताती हैं कि यहां पर रह रही महिलाओं को ऐसी कई तरह की परेशानियां होती हैं जो वो किसी पुरुष अधिकारी से नहीं बता सकती हैं। ऐसे में वो उनकी मौजूदगी इन महिलाओं को राहत देती है।
3. रागिनी मानती हैं कि यहां फैली हिंसा ने बड़े पैमाने पर महिलाओं और बच्‍चों को मुश्किलों में डाला है। महिला अधिकारी के होने का फायदा ये है कि महिलाएं अपनी बात सहजता से कर पाती हैं। उन्‍होंने यूएन के वीडियो में कहा कि उन्‍हें जो फीडबैक मिलता है उससे उन्‍हें काफी सुकून मिलता है। वो कहती हैं कि उन्‍हें यहां पर आने के बाद अभूतपूर्व अनुभव हुआ है। यहां पर आकर वो उन लोगों की मदद कर पाई हैं, जो इसके सही मायने में हकदार हैं। यहां पर काम करने वाला हर व्‍यक्ति इन लोगों के लिए आशा का स्रोत है। रागिनी ने वीडियो में बताया कि यूएन मिशन की नीली टोपी पहनने के बाद उन्‍हें एक नई ताकत और संतुष्टि मिलती है। उन्‍होंने यूएन मिशन के लिए दूसरों को भी प्रेरित किया है। उनका कहना है कि आप भी ये कर सकते हैं और आपको ये जरूर करना चाहिए।

1. The United States is imposing new tariffs on $1.96 billion worth of aluminum sheet products from 18 countries after determining that the goods were being dumped, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said on Friday.

1. India and the UK are in the final stages of signing a defence logistics sharing pact, according to people aware of the development, adding to a host of similar agreements with other Indo-Pacific nations that can expand the reach of Indian warships and aircraft in the region.
2. “India’s military logistics pacts have the potential to substantially enhance the Indian Navy’s operational reach in the Indo-Pacific region. From Reunion to Djibouti and Salalah to Guam, India now has access to the remote reaches of the Indo Pacific. A logistics agreement with the UK will, for the first time, offer India access to naval facilities in the distant Atlantic,” said Abhijit Singh, who heads the maritime policy initiative at the Observer Research Foundation.
3. While the practical use will be determined in the coming years, these pacts can give India access to a range of ports and military bases in the region – from major garrisons in the Gulf to the remote Keeling island in the South Indian Ocean, and strategic military locations like Okinawa and Busan.

2. “Now, we have been told that there is a secret legal matter and that his extradition cannot take place without its resolution… We are in touch with the UK government,” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said at a media briefing.
3. He said New Delhi has been in constant touch with the UK government after Mallya exhausted all legal remedies against his extradition to India.
4. In June, India urged the UK not to consider any request for asylum by Mallya as there appeared to be no ground for his persecution in the country. The UK government had indicated that Mallya is unlikely to be extradited to India anytime soon, saying there is a legal issue that needed to be resolved before his extradition can be arranged. India and the UK are in the final stages of agreeing on a key defence logistics pact, reflecting a policy shift in London as the Boris Johnson government finalises its one-in-a-generation Integrated Review of Britain’s foreign policy, defence and international development in the post-Brexit world.
2. Avinash Paliwal, an international relations expert at the School of Oriental and African Studies, said on Friday: “A defence logistics pact between India and the UK is significant for multiple reasons. Apart from the military strategic value of such a pact, especially in the IOR (Indian Ocean Rim), it signals a foreign policy shift on London’s part on the China and Pakistan questions”.
3. “For long, the UK has tried to balance relations between China and the US, as well as India and Pakistan. Such a defence logistics pact affords clarity of intent i.e. the UK is increasingly wary of China, and is unlikely to let Pakistan’s sensitivities hinder a truly strategic partnership with India (something that has been the case for many years).”
4. Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, senior fellow at IISS, said: “The UK’s once-in-a-generation security review with a tilt towards the Indo-Pacific, growing convergence on China and the recent government-to-government arms transfer pact, set the political context for boosting bilateral defence links and maritime security cooperation in the western Indian Ocean”
