Shah Rukh’s Khan statement on Mohammad is recorded on the link below :

SRK’s ‘statement’

Excerpts:
When asked, “According to you who is the most impressive figure in history?” Khan allegedly said, “There are lots of them, some negative ones like Hitler, Napoleon, Winston Churchill and if I can call it history, then Prophet Mohammed and from recent time Nelson Mandela.” “And there are nice ones like Gandhiji and Mother Teresa.”

Namaste

The problem that the protesters have is that SRK called Mohammad a positive figure ‘like’ Mandela. The problem they have is that Mohammad cannot be compared to anyone. Therefore SRK issued a clarification that “Mohammad is the most important person in history”. http://www.mid-day.com/news/2009/jun/200609-Shah-Rukh-Khan-Prophet-statement-terrorism.htm ( this clarification actually reveals more about the mind-set than the original ).

Mohammad according to Islam is the greatest apostle and hero and is incomparable.

This is an important lesson for us about how any comment on discussion on Quran and Mohammad are stifled.

BTW, I really wonder why Churchill or Napolean were termed as a negative personalities by SRK. If they are negative because they fought wars..so was his “most important person in history”, who exterminated all who disagreed with him and fought over 80 wars in his lifetime.

The fact is the Quran and Mohammad are very central to the very existence of the Muslims and therefore out of bar for any discussion lest there arise any confusion among Muslims. Anyway, for the non-Muslims, it is very important to study & discuss them, because the life of Mohammad and the Quran gives us an insight about how Muslims are expected to live their life and their relationships viz a viz. non-Muslims ( Kafirs).

I would recommend the readers to read ” The Calcutta Quran Petition” by Voice of India to learn more.
