• महाराष्ट्र: सफेद चंदन और काली हल्दी की सफल खेती से इस किसान से बनाई अपनी पहचान

• महाराष्ट्र में लातूर जिले के रहने वाले धनंजय राउत हमेशा से ही खेती में कुछ अलग करना चाहते थे। उनके पिता और आस-पास के किसान सामान्य खेती कर रहे थे लेकिन धनंजय की ख्वाहिश थी कि खेती में कुछ अलग किया जाए। इसके लिए उन्होंने एग्रीकल्चरल डिपार्टमेंट से पॉलीहाउस लगाने की ट्रेनिंग भी ली। वह बताते हैं, “पारंपरिक खेती में ज्यादा नहीं बचता था। ऐसे में एक ऐसे रास्ते की तलाश थी, जिसमें कम पानी में अच्छा नतीजा मिले। सबको पता है कि लातूर में पानी की समस्या कितनी रहती है। इसलिए मैं हाई टेक खेती करना चाहता था।”
• धनंजय ने अपने एक एकड़ ज़मीन पर लगभग 200 चंदन के पेड़ लगाए। चंदन की कमर्शियल वैल्यू बहुत ज्यादा है इसलिए वह इसकी खेती के लिए कृषि विभाग से भी मार्गदर्शन लेते रहे। वह बताते हैं कि जब एग्रीकल्चर डिपार्टमेंट को पता चला कि कोई किसान ऐसा कुछ ट्राई कर रहा है तो उन्होंने दूसरे किसानों को भी बताया और फिर उनके यहाँ लगातार किसानों का, कृषि से जुड़े एक्सपर्ट्स का और मीडिया का भी आना शुरू हो गया। दूसरे किसान भी उनसे चंदन के पौधों की मांग करने लगे।
• धनंजय के मुताबिक, चंदन की फसल किसानों को इन्वेस्टमेंट के तौर पर लगानी चाहिए। आप शुरुआत में 8 से 10 पेड़ लगा लीजिये अपने खेत में और साथ में, सामान्य तरीकों से अपनी खेती करते रहिए। चंदन के पेड़ में बीमारी लगने का खतरा रहता है लेकिन यह ऐसी कोई बीमारी नहीं जिसे कंट्रोल न किया जा सके।
• काली हल्दी के लिए उन्हें कहीं भी बाजार ढूंढने की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ी। बल्कि उनके पास काली हल्दी की मांग इतनी है कि उन्होंने बहुत ज्यादा मूल्य पर भी इसे बेचा है। वह कहते हैं कि उनसे आयुर्वेदिक कंपनियों और किसानों ने भी काली हल्दी के लिए संपर्क किया। शुरुआत में उन्होंने इसका मूल्य हज़ार रुपये किलो रखा था लेकिन फिर जब मांग बढ़ी तो उन्होंने इसे 1500 रुपये कर दिया।

• मैं बाहर से सिर्फ आलू–प्याज खरीदती हूँ, बाकी सब उगाती हूँ अपनी छत पर!

1. बेंगलुरु में रहने वाली प्रतिमा अदीगा लगभग चार साल से अपनी छत पर गार्डनिंग कर रही हैं। उनका टेरेस गार्डन तीसरे और चौथे फ्लोर पर है और इसमें वह अपनी घर की ज़रूरत की सभी तरह की सब्जी, फल और फूल उगाती हैं। उनके किचन में इस्तेमाल होने वाली लगभग 90% सब्ज़ियाँ उनके गार्डन से आती हैं। बाहर से वह सिर्फ आलू या प्याज खरीदती हैं।
2. प्रतिमा को गार्डनिंग का शौक अपने पापा से मिला। लेकिन ज़िंदगी की भाग-दौड़ में वह कभी गार्डनिंग नहीं कर पाई और चार साल पहले जब उन्हें मौका मिला तो उन्होंने इसे हाथों-हाथ लिया। गार्डनिंग में राजेंद्र हेगड़े और विश्वनाथ (अब स्वर्गीय) प्रतिमा के गुरु हैं और उनकी ही वर्कशॉप के बाद उन्होंने कभी भी पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा। उन्होंने ठान लिया कि अब वह खुद ही सब्जियाँ उगाएंगी। प्रतिमा ने लगभग 20 गमलों से गार्डनिंग की शुरूआत की।
3. वह अपने गार्डन में लौकी, कद्दू, पेठा, टमाटर, मिर्च, बीन्स, बैंगन, शकरकंद, हल्दी, अदरक, निम्बू, गोभी, ब्रोकली, तोरई, खरबूज, शलजम, खीरा, मूली, गाजर, सभी तरह की पत्तेदार सब्जी और फूल आदि उगाती हैं। इनमें भी वह अब तक 30 किलो कद्दू, 70 किस्म के टमाटर, 15 किस्म की बीन्स, 9 किस्म की शकरकंद आदि उगा चुकी हैं। वह अपने गार्डन की प्लानिंग ही इस तरह करती हैं कि उनके किचन में पूरी आपूर्ति रहे। उनके लिए गार्डनिंग उनका स्ट्रेस बस्टर है और उन्होंने अपने बेटे को भी गार्डनिंग का महत्व समझाया है।

2. डीजेबी के तकनीकी सलाहकार अंकित श्रीवास्तव और आर्किटेक्ट मृगांका सक्सेना की टीम ने देखा कि जलाशय में कूड़े कचरे और गंदगी का अंबार है। उनकी देखरेख में डीजेबी ने आईएफसीडी के साथ मिलकर दिल्ली के पहले डीसेंट्रलाइज्ड सीवर सिस्टम में रजोकरी तालाब के कायाकल्प की शुरुआत की।
3. आईआईटी बॉम्बे से एनवॉयरमेंटल साइंस और इंजीनियरिंग में ग्रेजुएट अंकित कहते हैं, “दिल्ली में लगभग 600 जल निकाय हैं और इन सभी को पुनर्जीवित करना अंतिम लक्ष्य है। हालाँकि हमारे पास ऐसा कोई मॉडल नहीं था जिसके जरिए हम इन्हें पूरी तरह बदल सकते थे। इसलिए, हमने शहर की स्थिति के अनुसार अपने खुद के मॉडल को बेहतर बनाने के लिए एक इन-हाउस टीम बनाई, और 2017 में रजोकरी परियोजना, पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के रुप में शुरू की गई।”
4. इस प्रोजेक्ट को दो भागों में बाँटा गया – प्यूरीफिकेशन सिस्टम का निर्माण और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में लैंडस्केप बनाना, जिससे न सिर्फ इसकी सुंदरता बढ़े बल्कि झील का लंबे समय तक उचित रखरखाव के साथ यह अधिक सस्टेनेबल हो सके।
5. डीजेबी टीम ने जलाशय में एक अनोखे प्यूरिफिकेशन आइलैंड की भी शुरूआत की। इसमें मूल रूप से जियो-नेटिंग के साथ 2X2 मीटर के पीवीसी पाइप ढांचे से बने राफ्ट हैं जो कि कन्ना और साइप्रस जैसे हार्मोन ट्रीटेड पौधों से जुड़े रहते हैं। ये पौधे न केवल पोषक तत्वों और अन्य लाभकारी जलीय पौधों की वृद्धि करते हैं, बल्कि प्रदूषकों को भी अवशोषित करते हैं और यूट्रोफिकेशन (खनिजों और पोषक तत्वों के साथ जल के अत्यधिक संवर्धन और ऑक्सीजन की कमी को पूरा करने की अनुमति देता है) को रोककर संतुलन बनाते हैं। अंकित के अनुसार, इसका उद्देश्य मछलियों को इसमें छोड़ना और उनके नेचुरल इकोसिस्टम को बढ़ाने के लिए पानी को साफ और उपयुक्त बनाना है।इन सभी नवीन उपायों के कारण, रजोकरी सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट अब 600 किलोलीटर (6 लाख लीटर) सीवेज को शुद्ध करने की सुविधा प्रदान करता है।

• Dadasaheb Bhagat from Beed worked as an office boy in Pune and developed skills in software and animation, before conceiving Doographics startup.
• Coming from a traditional farming family, Dadasaheb once worked as an office boy at Infosys. He climbed his way up and then decided to start his own company. But the lockdown forced him to shut down and look at doing something else.“I worked at Infosys about 10 years ago. Animation and graphic design software interested me, so after saving some money, I joined a certificate course in this field,” says Dadasaheb.Within a year of completing a couple of courses, he grabbed a job. “After working for a few years, I decided to start my company in motion graphics, branding and advertising called Ninth motion in Pune with a small team,” he said.           “We had 6,000 clients then and maxed out. The Covid-19 further put a halt in the plans,” he added.

1. Chinese car company plans to up India investment by Rs 1,000 crore

Key points:

1. Unfazed by the anti-China sentiment, MG Motor has said that it will approach the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) to make fresh investments into India as the Chinese carmaker plans to get in an additional Rs 1,000 crore to launch new models and expand operations. However, in line with the recent changes in FDI rules, the company — due to its lineage (it’s a sub-brand of Chinese auto major SAIC) — will need to take an approval/clearance from DPIIT to make fresh investments.
2. “The government has full right and responsibility to decide whatever is good for the country. Any government has to do what is good for the country. The Indian government is doing all the right things,” MG Motor India president and MD Rajeev Chaba told TOI when asked whether the additional permissions were a business irritant. Asked whether the anti-China sentiment will have an impact on business sentiments, he said “short-term” effects could be there, but it will be growth-oriented business in the medium to long term.
3. “Globally, there are lots of examples where countries have differences, but trade does not get impacted in the medium to long term.” MG — which is an old British brand that was acquired by SAIC — has already invested Rs 3,000 crore in India (it had taken over GM’s plant), and has a healthy growth trend in the market. It currently sells the Hector premium SUV in India, apart from the ZS electric.
4. Chaba unveiled the company’s new model — the Gloster, which it positions as a luxury SUV. Asked by when the company will approach DPIIT, he said, “We have two ways to invest. We can borrow, or put equity. We will follow the process in due time. We are in the process of filing as and when the need comes.”
5. The company had to lose out on an electric vehicle order from Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), the central government’s electric vehicles procurement arm, due to changed rules for government tenders where DPIIT clearance is required. Chaba, however, claimed that the company decided “not to participate” in the tender as the price of the ZS electric SUV was higher than what EESL wanted. On plans for India, he said that MG Motor will be increasing localisation. “We have taken a conscious call to have higher localisation in the country. Even if a part is 20% costlier in India than any other country, especially China, we will localise.”
