• [Startup Bharat] Lucknow-based Dectrocel Healthcare and Research’s AI tool can screen COVID-19 for just Rs 100

Key points:

1. The startup has developed an AI screening tool that can detect COVID-19 through real-time chest X-ray images and can diagnose conditions like COVID-19 induced pneumonia and other related problems.
2. The startup aims to bring personalised medicine and evidence-based medicine to India, and is also looking to minimise the doctor-patient ratio in the country.
3. The startup has developed a range of solutions to provide speciality healthcare for the bottom of the pyramid at just Rs 100.
4. For COVID-19, the team has developed an AI screening tool, which can detect COVID-19 through real time chest X-ray images. It can diagnose conditions like COVID-19 induced pneumonia, round glass opacities and consolidation, lesion localisation in the lung parenchyma with COVID-19 risk and affected area estimate without the intervention of a human being.

• 3 Friends Quit 9-5 Jobs to Start Trekking Company, Earn Rs 1 Crore in Turnover

1. The monotony of their 9-5 jobs made three friends launch Trekmunk, a travel company that organizes offbeat treks and mountaineering expeditions.
2. During their one-month long journey, the duo made plans about what they could do to earn money while pursuing their passion. They came up with the idea of ‘Trekmunk’ – a tour agency that would organise offbeat treks for groups. In November 2016, once they returned to Delhi after their trip, they officially registered their startup and roped in Mohit, who too quit his job with the Rishikesh-based tour agency. The three pooled in money from their savings and rented office space in Delhi.

1. GoI bans import of ACs to make India Aatmanirbhar; opens alcohol-based hand sanitisers for exports

Key points:

1. This step by the Indian government will prove to be a major setback for countries like China and Thailand which are one of the top exporters of air conditioners in the world.
2. In a major move to boost India’s domestic manufacturing which is critical to the success of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign, the Indian government has banned the import of air conditioners with refrigerants. A circular which was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on Thursday read, “Import Policy of Air Conditioners with refrigerants under HS codes 84151010 and 84151090 is amended from ‘Free’ to ‘Prohibited.’ This issues with the approval of Minister of Commerce and Industry.” This applies to the split systems and other ACs with refrigerants.
3. India’s manufacturing and services sector contributes almost 30 percent to the country’s growth. Although the coronavirus pandemic brought the manufacturing sector to its knees, the government has been taking steps to revive the sector. The one scheme that really stood out was the Rs 3 lakh-crore collateral-free loan.

1. कोरोना महामारी की वजह से ऐसे कई गरीब स्टूडेंट हैं जिनके लिए ऑनलाइन पढ़ाई करना बिल्कुल भी आसान नहीं हैं। कहीं इंटरनेट कनेक्शन की दिक्कत है तो कहीं लैपटॉप और स्मार्टफोन जैसे डिवाइस खरीद पाना भी इन स्टूडेंट्स के लिए मुश्किल है। ऐसे स्टूडेंट्स की मुश्किलें चेन्नई की गुनीशा अग्रवाल ने कम की हैं। गुनीशा इन्हें मुफ्त में लैपटॉप और स्मार्टफोन बांट रही हैं।
2. गुनीशा अग्रवाल 12वीं कक्षा की छात्रा हैं। वे चेन्नई पुलिस कमिश्नर महेश कुमार अग्रवाल की बेटी हैं। गुनीशा को इस काम की प्रेरणा अपनी मां से मिली। एक बार गुनीशा ने देखा कि उनकी मां ने घर में काम करने वाली एक बाई की बेटी को लैपटॉप दिया ताकि वह ऑनलाइन क्लास में हिस्सा ले सके।
3. तभी गुनीशा को इस बात का ख्याल आया कि अपनी मां की तरह उसे भी जरूरतमंद स्टूडेंट्स की मदद करना चाहिए। जब गुनीशा ने इन स्टूडेंट्स को फ्री में यूज्ड लैपटॉप और स्मार्टफोन देने की शुरुआत की। इतना ही नहीं जरूरतमंद छात्रों की मदद करने के लिए गुनीशा ने एक वेबसाइट भी बनाई है
4. चेन्नई और उसके आसपास के क्षेत्र के ऐसे कई लोग हैं जो गुनीशा की इस काम में मदद करने के उद्देश्य से उन्हें ये डिवाइस डोनेट कर रहे हैं। साथ ही गुनीशा की मदद के लिए आईटी कंपनी, थिंकफिनिटी एंड कंसल्टिंग ने भी पहल की है। इस कंपनी ने गुनीशा के लिए 50,000 में बनने वाली वेबसाइट को फ्री में बनाया है। इसी कंपनी के कई टेक्निकल एक्सपर्ट स्टूडेंट्स को दिए जाने वाले पुराने डिवाइस का ऑनलाइन क्लासेस के हिसाब से फार्मेट करते हैं।
